Why do God let us suffer? A question that lingers my mind few years ago. My dad passed away last October 2006, and on that day, I asked God why do you make me suffer? It corrupted me for almost a year. It affected my relationship with my girlfriend( now by God’s grace she’s my wife), it also made a big impact on my studies and it totally diminished my relationship and belief with God. I questioned God’s existence.

That suffering was a big part of God’s master plan in my life and reading the Bible made me understand all His promises for my life.

“But the tragedy with human beings, we only remember God on the negative way. We Know Him when we are SUFFERING. But what about the daily gifts that He gives us? The family, the children, the food, the employment….”

- an interview Ninoy Aquino

If I say, ‘I will forget my complaint, I will change my expression, and smile,’ I still dread all my sufferings, for I know you will not hold me innocent. Since I am already found guilty, why should I struggle in vain?

Job 9:27-29

My bones suffer mortal agony as my foes taunt me, saying to me all day long, “Where is your God?”

Psalm 42:10

My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life.

Psalm 119:50
